This kind of Clintonite sewage is like a hydra, an evil monster that sprouts new heads every time a new one is lopped off.
And now you get Chelsea, the well educated daughter who was given a couple of very high-powered jobs and left them all within a couple of years. She’s pushing 40 with no resume whatsover, but her last name all but assures her a seat in the House.
most qualified candidate in U.S. history!
Like you, I am constantly amazed by this one. Just since the turn of the century, we’ve had eight candidates. Virtually every scholar on presidential history would say that the best training ground for the presidency is a governorship. That automatically puts her behind Bush and Romney. She had less experience in public life than Gore and Kerry. So, where does this “most qualified” nonsense come from?
that’s why Clinton, who is way to the right of most Democrats, tried to reinvent herself as Sanders Lite for the purposes of the 2016 campaign, then spent the entire primary denouncing Sanders’ proposals as too ambitious and peddling Diminished Expectations with defeatist rhetoric.
Hm. Not sure I agree. If Clinton “ran to the center” in the general, it was not obvious to me; she actually suprised me because I EXPECTED her to run to the center.
Seems to me that Clinton, competing with the worst presidential candidate of all time in Mr. Trump, spent the entire campaign saying “I’m better than Donald Trump.” To which America collectively replied “Well, that’s a pretty low bar; we had hoped for something better.”
I think you’ve well illustrated, Jeremy, that there’s quite a mess in the body politic, here, and one which they are clearly not ready to admit to. In my view, the Dems have to choose between a Bernie Sanders — type, bringing in the left at the expense of some centrist independents, or a Joe Manchin-type, bringing in the centrists at the expense of the left.
