Also, we don’t know about these restrictions, lots of times. Case in point:
I have relatives in Syria, Sweden, and Germany. The ones in Sweden and Germany immigrated from Syria some 30 years ago. All of them have been back and forth to the US for visits every few years or so. 10 years ago or so, my sister in law got a green card and subsequently came over here enough and jumped through the hoops to get her US citzenship. Her husband didn’t bother to.
At any rate, they wanted to come over for a few weeks in December when kids were out of school. As I said, both of them have consistently come back and forth every few years, never had a problem. THIS TIME, my brother in law was denied an entry permit. So, a guy who has lived in Sweden for 30 years plus, is a Swedish citizen, which is a country we don’t need visas from……was refused entry.
So, the Obama Admin had some sort of restriction on people of Syrian heritage on at the end of the year………obviously……and just didn't tell anyone.
