Actually I live in Canada, where the solution we came up with was “stop worrying about it.” You know what happened? Nothing. Nobody was assaulted and it cost zero people zero dollars.

Well, I graduated from the University of Toronto. When I was there, Canadians spent a large amount of time telling me how different they were than Americans. So forgive me if I find your “Canadians are just the same as Americans” line of reasoning a bit…..interesting. :-)

But okay, the “in love with economics” Muslim woman says billions should spent across the United States so that she doesn’t have to share a space with those icky trans cooties.

Conversations and debates go better when both sides are honest and don’t try to put words in the other sides mouths. I said nothing about “icky trans cooties” or any other sort of emotive matters in voicing my opinion. So, let’s stick to a civil discussion and not drive it off into a pejorative ditch, shall we?

Maybe you’re operating on a different definition of “smart” and “realistic.”

Oh, there’s no question that we are. But, I have amended my position a bit, on thinking about it. No need to spend nearly as much money as my original suggestion implied (although “billions” is quite the exaggeration, I must say).

Most public buildings have multiple facilities; a 10 story office building will have two washrooms on each floor, or 20 in the entire building. If your true concern is simply one of convenient access, than all a building of a given size needs to do is designate one or two of those 20 washrooms unisex, and leave the rest alone.

That would work fine, and be substantially cheaper.

Assuming that your true concern is simply one of convenient access, of course.

Hope that helps.
