Actually, he didn’t. What he stated was that there are variables in the pay equation that have nothing to do with discrimination, and when they are statistically normalized for, reduce the pay gap to between 2–3%, last time I saw the math.
That’s rather obvious, eh? If in groups of 10, if 9 men choose engineering degrees and one chooses teaching, and if in another group of 10 9 women choose teaching and one engineering, there’s going to be a rather marked pay gap between the genders, and yet there was no discrimination whatsoever.
And that’s only one of the variables.
